Peer Review

While reading Shakira's webtext, it helped me realize that i need to add in more links and more information about fad dieting. It seemed like she was really interested about her topic, and it made me interested to learn more about it. Everything flowed really nicely, and made her seem like she did her research and new alot about what she was talking about.

When i read the peer review that Tom wrote for me, i was helped alot. He mentioned things that were good, so i knew i was doing something right, and he also helped me with possible topics to talk about--which i did. I was able to put better points in my webtext because of his good ideas. It seems easier and more put together now that it is finished, and i'm glad he said some of the things he said.

After having the conference today with Crystal, it made me realize that i needed to put more information in where it was needed. She was really clear about what she wanted me to add in, and it made it easier to do my revisions. I also got some good ideas to add in as well and also i was able to make my sections better. I do believe she helped me and i'm glad she told me what she did, because usually other people might be a little nervoous to tell you something that isn't right in your paper because they don't want to hurt you, but she was honest and that helps more.

My Audience

Since my topic is about dieting I think it will interest people who are trying to lose weight. People need to realize that fad dieting isn't beneficial to them.

How many people will make up my audience?
--My audience will make up anyone who wants to learn about fad diets

How well does my audience understand English?
--They understand enough.

How much does my audience know about the topic?
--I believe my audience knows a little about fad dieting, but by the end of this webtext i would assume they would know more.

What is my audience’s reason for reading my work?
--To learn about yo-yo dieting.

What are my audience’s expectations about my written work?
--To be more informed about why yo-yo dieting is not the best choice for losing weight.

What is my audience’s attitude toward me and my work?
--I would hope they understand why i chose to do my project on fad dieting.

What do I want my audience to do after reading my work?
--I want my audience to understand that there are many health risks that are involved in yo-yo dieting, and i want to be able to persuade them to focus on losing weight the old fashioned way--a HEALTHY diet and excercise.

--My purpose is to inform people on the harmful effects of fad dieting, but also to persuade them to lose weight the correct way.

--My tone would have an informal voice to it, because i want it to be interesting and i don't want people reading it feel like they HAVE to read it, but want to.

THANK YOU :]
